How to choose a Phoenix Logo Designer

When you are shopping for a logo designer, there are a few things to consider. The most important thing to consider is their portfolio. This is a window into who they are as a designer, their style, and the type of companies that they work with. You want to look for a designer whose work appeals to you and inspires you. Finding a local logo designer is many times preferred because they are available to meet in person if needed, and are on the same time zone as you. If you cannot find someone you like locally, I would recommend finding someone that is in the same country as you. Many times working with overseas designers can have its pitfalls, such as communication style, language and design aesthetic. Lastly, look for a designer that is a good communicator. Someone who is willing to speak with you on the phone, and is responsive to emails. A designer that hides behind their computer and is conveniently always unavailable will make it very difficult to work with.

Your Branding Toolbox

Your Phoenix logo design is ONE component of your entire branding toolbox. Inside of that toolbox are items such as: color palette, typography, textures & patterns, iconography and photography style. Your logo design is never alone, on a blank page. It is always “with something” such as a website, business card and brochure. So, consider that when you are in the logo design process. Your logo does not need to communicate everything that you do just by looking at it. That would be very difficult to achieve in just one logo. Rather, the logo design should communicate a style or aesthetic, and may potentially give hints to what you do. If your business is created around something more tangible-pies for example-then it does become easier to illustrate this and be more overt in how your logo communicates what the business is selling.

When it is all said and done, it needs to be professional, polished and on brand. You want to steer clear from logos that are simply recycled stock art or overly obvious solutions that have been created many times over.

What logo design formats will I receive?

JPG: This is your general use file. You can use this in word docs, as an email signature, social media profile image, etc.

PNG: This file is a transparent background so that you can place it on top of an image or color without a white square around it.

EPS: This is your LIVE vector artwork. It’s likely you will not be able to open or see this file unless you have a program like Illustrator or Photoshop. Vector artwork can be scaled to any size without losing resolution or pixelating. Vector files can be scaled as high as a skyscraper and still look crisp and beautiful. This is the file you will give to printers to make your T-shirts, banners, etc.

What is the logo design process?

1. Fill out your logo design worksheet or send your ideas/drawings.

2. I create a proposal for the work which you sign digitally

3. An invoice for the work will be issued

4. Once the invoice is paid you will be added to my work list 5. Typical turnaround time is 1.5-3 weeks, depending on scheduling

What if I don’t like any of the logo designs?

This is rare, but it does happen. My intention is always to get to the finish line with a logo design that you love. When you provide me your logo design form and examples, I use those as both information and inspiration to create the 3 logos for you. In the event that I have not satisfied you, I will create a fourth logo design concept for you for an additional fee. I will request clear direction or concept on what you are wanting to see in the fourth design.

How long will it take to design my custom logo?

The completion time for custom logos is typically 2-3 weeks. Rush services are available for an additional fee. Participation from you is key. In order for me to start your logo design, I need the both the worksheet and logo likes/dislikes to be submitted to me.
